The house designs for Mount Kenya Wildlife Estate have been planned for maximum privacy, with the open-plan living areas generously arranged around open terraces enjoying open views towards Mount Kenya and the waterholes.

The houses are planned to work both as holiday and long-term residences. There is a choice of either 3 or 5 bedroom house types, with the larger house design being particularly well suited to longer term residency or rental purposes.

Designed by one of Kenya’s leading architects, the houses are modern and combine comfortable living and well-organised internal space. The houses are all double storey, designed to maximise the glorious surrounding views over rolling bush and grassland dotted with game the plains to the Loldaigas, Mount Kenya and the Aberdares.

Each house within the Wildlife Estate has been carefully placed so that all houses enjoy excellent views, many overlooking water holes. They do not look onto each other, and the indigenous bush provides natural screening to give a high level of privacy.

  • Spacious houses with fantastic views
  • Huge verandas on ground and first floor – perfect entertaining space
  • Houses carefully placed to offer privacy
  • Mains and solar power, borehole water and water treatment system

The kitchen/ dining room is planned to be integral to the day terrace and is fitted with attractive units and granite worktops, with a breakfast bar open to the dining area. The sitting room has a large stone and timber fireplace.  All bedrooms are en-suite and are on the first floor with two first floor terraces providing superb views to Mount Kenya and the Laikipia plains and sunsets.

The houses are built in a modern African idiom utilizing natural materials throughout and are designed to merge with the landscape, with extensive use of local stone, timber and glass.
